China has called on Japan to address what it deems inappropriate statements regarding Taiwan, urging the nation to adopt a more balanced and rational stance. During a meeting in Beijing, China’s top diplomat Wang Yi emphasized the need for Japan to correct its approach towards Taiwan, highlighting the importance of maintaining the political foundation of China-Japan relations.
Wang’s comments were made during a discussion with Takeshi Iwaya, president of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade.
